Hello,
I'm trying to move my existing calendar into GeneralSync calendar. I've done:
1. In the calendar tab, right-click the existing calendar to import, and choose "Export Calendar...."
2. Save the calendar to a location of your choice.
3. In the menu, choose "Events and Tasks | Import Calendar...", then select the calendar file saved in the second step and choose the GeneralSync calendar as target.
But when I try to import the ics file it says:
"No importable items found in the file"
I have tried this several times. My calendar is large with many yearly repeats etc..
The file looks like an ics file as far as I can tell.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
James.

This error can appear if the file to import is malformed; basically Thunderbird cannot determine what events are in the file and assumes it is empty. Maybe there is a bug / issue with one of your events that causes the export to produce malformed data.
Do you get any messages in the error console immediately before this error message appears? You can open the error console in Thunderbird's main window by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J and keep it open in the background to check.

Yes! thank you ds. I hadf no idea the error console even existed!!!
I'm getting an error on one line of the file, I can now work through it and try to correct. Hope fully I'll be able to wark it out from there.
If not I'll be back.
Thanks again,
James
All sorted after a lot of editing
. The calendar was originally on an M$ Exchange server and I had to remove about 2000 lines of M$ junk from a 29000 line file!
Thanks again,
James.
