Syncing Multiple Groups in the same address book

Is it possible for GeneralSync to sync multiple groups within the same address book? I have created groups on my phone that match the names of my address books in Thunderbird, but they don't seem to be syncing. I have tried creating a new address book in the GeneralSync app on my PC, but all it does is add that on my phone as a new account, which isn't what I want.

GeneralSync supports groups and will map them to address lists in Thunderbird. Just create an address list in Thunderbird and assign contacts to it (for address lists, contacts should have an unique primary email address, or they won't get displayed correctly in Thunderbird).

You should then see the address list appear as group on Android. Most Android contact apps will then also permit you to create additional groups or move existing contacts in and out of groups.

Note that it is not possible to map groups to address books, as they do work differently. If a contact belongs to multiple groups or address lists, it is still a single contact: if you change the contact in one group, is also changes in all other groups. Contacts in different address books, however, are always separate (even if they theoretically contained the very same data).
