Sync existing Calendar in Thunderbird

Hi,
am I missing something or is it not possible to include an existing Calendar in Thunderbird/Lightning on Windows?

Everything works very well when creating a new Calendar, but I could not figure out how to include an already exisiting local Calendar to sync it?

thx

Thanks for your interest in GeneralSync!

Thunderbird permits to im- and export any calendar. To import all events from an existing calendar into a GeneralSync calendar you already created, you can thus follow these steps:

  1. In the calendar tab, right-click the existing calendar to import, and choose "Export Calendar...."

  2. Save the calendar to a location of your choice.

  3. In the menu, choose "Events and Tasks | Import Calendar...", then select the calendar file saved in the second step and choose the GeneralSync calendar as target.

The operation may take a while, depending on the size of the calendar. Afterwards, the GeneralSync calendar will contain all events of the original calendar. You may want to disable or remove that calendar afterwards, otherwise its events will be displayed twice (as both the GeneralSync and the original calendar contain one instance of the event).
