Time Zones

I keep my laptop on a different timezone to my Android devices.  How will GeneralSync handle this?

Re: Time Zones

Have experimented and found that GeneralSync handles time zones correctly.

An 8-9pm appointment in time zone A is correctly translated to an 7-8pm appointment in time zone B on the Android device.  If the time zone B is selected is selected in Thunderbird for a 8-9pm appointment it correctly appears as an 8-9pm appointment on the Android device.

My current sync program is fussy about time zones forcing me to change the time zone on my Android device before I can sync.

Re: Time Zones

Thanks for your interest in GeneralSync!

As you already found out, GeneralSync handles timezones out of the box.

When working with different timezones, note that most Android calendar apps have a serious bug when editing timezones of existing events: changes usually only affect the event's start time, leaving the end time in the original timezone. Sadly, it is technically not possible to detect whether the end timezone was intentionally unchanged or the user used a buggy calendar app.
